Adil Javed, MD, PhD has expertise in autoimmune diseases of the brain and spine, including multiple sclerosis, lupus, Sjögren's disease, and other related connective tissue diseases. He has particular clinical and research interests in neuromyelitis optica (NMO), also known as Devic's disease. In addition, he specializes in nervous system complications of infectious and post-infectious diseases.

Dr. Javed is also a principle investigator in several multiple sclerosis trials. His translational research interests include analyzing brain pathology using new and unconventional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques.

Research Interests
  • Dr. Javed's work is in the area of neuroimmunology. He has clinical and research interests in a variety of autoimmune diseases that affect the nervous system, including multiple sclerosis, lupus, Sjögren's disease, mixed connective tissue diseases, and neuromyelitis optica (also known as Devic's disease). He is a sub-investigator in clinical trials of new MS drugs. He also has expertise in nervous system complications of infectious and post-infectious diseases. Dr. Javed has a broad based clinical experience in the field of general neurology and medicine. He sees a broad spectrum of diseases other than autoimmune diseases in his clinic. He has special interest in neuroendocrine disorders. He has a special research interest in analyzing brain pathology using new and unconventional MRI techniques.
