Neurology Residency - Letter from the Chief Residents
Welcome to the Neurology Residency Program at The University of Chicago Medical Center and congratulations on beginning
your journey towards becoming a Neurologist.
We are located on the historic University of Chicago campus in Hyde Park, just 15 minutes south of downtown Chicago. Being
located on a university campus affiliated with over 80 Nobel laureates and home to important discoveries such as the first
nuclear fission reaction and REM sleep, we are reminded every day of our primary responsibility as Neurology residents: the
steady pursuit of knowledge in order to become excellent clinical neurologists. Under the guidance of our enthusiastic and
dedicated faculty, we are encouraged to think critically and independently in order to master the art and science of
clinical neurology. Most importantly, we have had the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives our patients.
In addition to our well-rounded training opportunities in clinical neurology and neuroscience research, we are able to do
all of this while living in the great city of Chicago! We have every imaginable option for entertainment, dining, nightlife
and much more – all of which is surprisingly affordable and laid back when compared to other cities of this caliber. As a
group of residents, we have found time to work and play together in this vibrant and stimulating environment.
